We had our 1st annual Moon Family Vacation. The place of choice was Orcas Island, camping for 3 nights in Moran State Park. So we planned, and organized and worked hard to coordinate everyones' schedules. We had Cori & Colin, Brian & Lacy, and April coming from Idaho. Jordan and Natalie coming from a wedding in Manti, Utah. Grandma & Grandpa Ed coming from Salt Lake. We did it, it was a Miracle in itself. We endured, the Ferry, no campfires, bees, sunburns, very hot temperatures, and a little bit of a walk to the bathrooms (not bad during the day but night another story!) We had Camerons "Darth Mader" birthday party, jumped off bridges, swam in the Lake, went to Mt. Constitution, had lots of good food that we took turns cooking, made ice cream, braided hair, twirled walking sticks, and just enjoyed everyones company. Thanks everybody for coming, pitching in, enduring the heat and the bees, and being together as a family. It was priceless...lets do it again.<br /></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>Moonmagichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12641252572542658630noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3125655911707198095.post-47736251531288565812009-02-03T19:57:00.000-08:002009-02-03T20:30:01.385-08:00What If It Really Was a Sniper?<div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVgayqnHYxlBebYlGi39IwFFa1yXwKoLbfBZTZ_KfOuPpNUNasbt7mtsE0pxMYnSuo7xMN4dEKv12UlmGxPdCjriN2s8CpxdekGDkGlPm4UsHzBHM-W89EJ_Ldb4d33W0-18k4-KE5vkg/s1600-h/sniper,5bn,3bde,20infreg,2IDsamarra,Iraq.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5298786832888530034" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 261px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVgayqnHYxlBebYlGi39IwFFa1yXwKoLbfBZTZ_KfOuPpNUNasbt7mtsE0pxMYnSuo7xMN4dEKv12UlmGxPdCjriN2s8CpxdekGDkGlPm4UsHzBHM-W89EJ_Ldb4d33W0-18k4-KE5vkg/s400/sniper,5bn,3bde,20infreg,2IDsamarra,Iraq.jpg" border="0" /></a> Ok really kids, I know I am a hands on, in your face, you better do what's right kind of a mother but really - you didn't have to take me out going 70 miles an hour on the freeway. Besides you aren't a very good aim. You hit the sliding door window - shattered it - and pretty much scared me to death. It took me a few seconds to figure out what had happened - by that time I had Whiplash and my heart was in my throat but I had enough sense to pull over to the left side of the freeway, put on my flashers and sit there and shake for a while. Not to mention the message I left your dad on his answering machine. He said my voice was pretty shakey.</div><div align="center">( Where is everybody when I need them?)<br /><br />Pretty soon I realized I was ok, and no one was around to help me. I put on my right blinker, merged back on to the 5 Freeway and headed on to my destination. Did you know that it is really cold driving on a freeway in the winter, </div><div align="center">with no window and a car full of glass - even with the heater on?<br /><br />Ok so maybe it wasn't a sniper but something happened that sucked the window right out of the van. I really was going 70 on the freeway and it pretty much ruined my day. </div><div align="center"></div><div align="center">So I say what else can go wrong. </div><div align="center">It happens in 3's they say - </div><div align="center">#1 Gallbladder </div><div align="center">#2 Shattered Window at 70 MPH </div><div align="center">#3 Any guesses?</div><div align="center"></div><div align="center">I guess the miracle in this is all is well!</div><div align="center">Except our deductible is more than it is going to cost to </div><div align="center">fix the window so we are out of luck on any insurance. </div><div align="left">On second thought - maybe I have it all wrong - the Christmas Tree falling on my head could have started it all, if that is the case then 3 things have happened and I am all done... We are in constant wedding mode and I will be so glad when it is over. The other day I got a package in the mail from Albion, Idaho with a bunch of pictures in it. Of course knowing what it was I ripped it open...my heart skipped a beat when I saw this picture. This is my newest future daughter-in-law "Lacy B" as Brian calls her. I recognized her, she belongs, she's a part of me and I hardley know her. I just am amazed at the miracle of her coming to our family. That sweet little face was destined to be a Moon from the beginning of time - I know it...because like I said - I recognized her! I am so glad Brian found her. I knew he would!<br /><br /><br /><div></div>Moonmagichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12641252572542658630noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3125655911707198095.post-25418732529633320372008-10-21T19:58:00.000-07:002008-10-21T20:32:28.029-07:00Weirds Things About Me<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6_geOiL0xE7jVmFTyfLw0SDsjEgNJrRZwxfWa9O9UtmCKppTWvebF27fX-yOlppySXf4is3JhUpkwV2Azo4PHM8u32NQrT7G2H5imcvM2YAGic1QXkDFmmbNqgEv9xTIj-p4U5jlV8F8/s1600-h/Crazy+face.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5259815859389983842" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6_geOiL0xE7jVmFTyfLw0SDsjEgNJrRZwxfWa9O9UtmCKppTWvebF27fX-yOlppySXf4is3JhUpkwV2Azo4PHM8u32NQrT7G2H5imcvM2YAGic1QXkDFmmbNqgEv9xTIj-p4U5jlV8F8/s400/Crazy+face.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div>Ok - long time and no time to post but something sparked my interest...I have read blogs that people are being tagged and posting things that are different about them or just weird quirks in their personality and I thought of some that drive me crazy ... but it's just me.</div><br /><div>1. I hate dumb questions - I know their is no dumb question people say, but I say YES THERE IS! Like "What's For Dinner?" when they know the day has been crazy or I am up to my neck in grandkids and they can't smell or see anything. I hate that question, I have been listening to it for 30 years multliple times a day and don't want to hear it again!!!1 Or "What is This?" being yelled from the other room - I don't know what it is because I have no idea what you are seeing or holding or talking about...You get the idea?</div><br /><div>2. I love paper and doing things with paper - no not scrapbooking - on any given day I have all of the colors of paper in stock and waiting for a project to show up. You could call me a paper junkie.</div><br /><div>3. I go crazy sitting together with family when people start picking at things, fingernail biting (can't stand the noise as they bite into the nail), picking intently at their toe nails or junk in between their toes, scabs that never heal because they are constantly getting picked at, or zits on their back or arms that they have to get distorted just to reach them. Do they think nobody is watching - My thing is do those things in private not where everyone is watching - it is discusting and very distracting.</div><br /><div>4. Along with my paper fettish I love notebooks - I don't know why. Whenever I am planning something I get a new notebook and color coordinate everything including the pens, post it notes, stapler, paper clips, etc. In my old age I can't remember things as well so I like to have a notebook to keep track of things. Right now I have an orange binder going (Brian's Wedding), pink binder (YW) Black & Pink binder (Church History class) - I am phasing out the Red and Black Binder (Jordans Wedding) Blue Binder (Cruise to Alaska), I will retire them but have them stocked up waiting for the next event - on stand by is a green binder (old Nauvoo trip) and purple binder(Old disneyland trip). But not to worry along with each binder I have a matching bag with water bottle. Although my orange water bottle was taken over by Alexa in Rexburg so not to worry. Strange I know but I am weird that way.</div><br /><div>5. I am not a sauce person. I love spaghetti but hate alot of sauce, I love pizza but ask for small amount of sauce. I just don't like it juicy - Keith makes fun of me because he loves lots of sauce so when we make homemade pizza we each make our own and we put the spaghetti sauce on the table so we can dish our own - Just not a juicy person.</div><br /><div>6. It was so beautiful, peaceful, and a wonderful day for the 3 of us. We wish we could have had the rest of the family with us but we are so glad we went. Juicy Couture! Oh my goodness is smells so good. It is Oprah's New Favorite Scent of the Year, and I can see why. It is so expensive but it is wonderful. Yesterday I sprayed myself good with the colonge and rubbed lotion on my hands and elbows and oh my what a scented day I had. Lots of comments wondering what was that perfume I was wearing. I felt sorry for my friend, here I was sampling her expensive perfume, didn't care though - she offered and I took her up on it. If you get a chance to get to Nordstroms go check it out. I'm thinking that I really want it - hmmm what can I sell?</div><br /><div align="center"></div><br /><div align="center">Miracle of the Day</div><br /><div align="center">It's a miracle in itself that I made it through last night. Hope your is also.</div><br /><div align="center"></div>Moonmagichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12641252572542658630noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3125655911707198095.post-90728021354624673982007-10-10T16:42:00.000-07:002007-10-10T17:41:49.044-07:00Whitnee Casserole<div align="justify">Last night as I was putting together <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">Whitnee</span> Casserole, I started to reminisce. When my oldest was in the 5<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">th</span> grade, for Mother's day the class made a little recipe book. It is the cutest little thing - Spiral Bound with a hand colored butterfly, flower and a pretty yellow sun on the cover. It says My Mother's Cook Book. On the inside cover is says; "May 15, 1990, I dedicate this book to the person that is always there, My Mom." It is full of a bunch of recipes that the kids collected from home. I have always saved it because it is precious to me. But just as <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">important</span> it has "<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">Whitnee</span> Casserole" in it. That wasn't the original name, it is Beef Casserole, but it was submitted by my daughters friend <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">Whitnee</span> Sacks, so therefore the name <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5">Whitnee</span> Casserole. It's not that exciting of a dish but for some reason most of my kids really liked it. I think it was my number 2 who didn't like it because it had olives in it. She thinks olives taste like batteries. Go figure!<br /><br />When I think about that time in my life - I can't believe it is 2007 - it seems like yesterday. At that time we were living in California, I had 5 little kids, the oldest in the 5<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6">th</span> grade, one in 3rd grade, one in Kindergarten, a 4 year old and a 4 1/2 month old. Whew how did I do it. Some of the kids friends who appear in my memories - were, Danielle, Shelley, Cori, Bo, and <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_7">AJ</span>. With Pam Landon across the street and the <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_8">McEldowneys</span> on the corner we some how survived. As a matter of fact - those were the magical days. I really think we had <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_9">alot</span> of fun. At least I have good memories, and I hope they do also.<br /><br />As for the Casserole, we had it for dinner last night. My youngest came home from school with one of her "Scrubs" today, she asked him if he wanted some <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_10">Whitnee</span> Casserole, he said what is that, the reply was "it is so bomb, just try it." Why is it called <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_11">Whitnee</span> Casserole, "I don't know it just is!" He loved it. Maybe I should pull out my little "My Mother's Cook Book", and give him the recipe. </div><div align="center">My question is "I wonder what happened to <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_12">Whitnee</span>?"</div><br /><div align="justify"></div><br /><div align="center"><span style="font-family:georgia;"><span style="color:#3333ff;"><em><span style="font-size:180%;"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_13">Whitnee</span> Casserole</span></em></span></span></div><br /><div align="center"><span style="font-family:georgia;color:#3333ff;"></span></div><div align="center"><span style="font-family:georgia;color:#3333ff;">1 medium onion</span></div><br /><div align="center"><span style="font-family:georgia;color:#3333ff;">1 pound of ground beef</span></div><br /><div align="center"><span style="font-family:georgia;color:#3333ff;">1 1/2 cups <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_14">tomato</span> sauce</span></div><br /><div align="center"><span style="font-family:georgia;color:#3333ff;">1 tsp. salt</span></div><br /><div align="center"><span style="font-family:georgia;color:#3333ff;">1/2 tsp. Only a mother can know what it feels like to have a child who wants to join the military. My first thought is - NO NO NO, then I realize that it is not my choice. It has been his dream for as long as I can remember. Our country needs men like him. Hard working, honest, spiritual, brave, and willing to serve. So why is it so hard? He is doing everything right, everything we have asked of him - even though sometimes it has been hard for him. But he did it. Is it possible to find miracles in all of this? Perhaps the $351.51 check he lost last October that just magically appeared in the car when he was out of money. Or the high score he got on the Military Practice Test that told him - He could do this. What about the job he is eligible for that is only available for 6 men a year. Maybe the fact he can stay in school and still serve. So with my heart beating so hard and my mind going crazy and my stomach in knots and with as much support as I can muster - I tell him Follow Your Dream Son, You Can Do It - Just Believe!!</span></span></div>Moonmagichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12641252572542658630noreply@blogger.com2
